About the Event
Winter is the time for tree tapping! Bigleaf Maple sugaring season begins in December and runs through March, and we invite you to visit the Oregon Maple Project to learn about this fascinating process. Come tour our maple sugaring operation, taste Bigleaf sap and syrup, and hike through the forest near our sugar shack. Scheduled groups visit for 3-4 hours, enjoying an interactive presentation about Bigleaf Maple sugaring as well as a self-guided hike through forest learning stations.
We spend all of our time outdoors, no matter the weather, so visitors are asked to come prepared with proper footwear and clothing. Students of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities are welcome. Maximum group size is 30 humans (including adult leaders). The Oregon Maple Project (OMP) staffs each field trip with one maple educator. If your group is larger, please contact us at info@oregonmapleproject.org to discuss options for visiting.
